Audit Senior

Hoyt Filippetti & Malaghan, LLC is a growing regional firm located in Southeastern Connecticut and Rhode Island. We are currently seeking an audit senior to work with our audit team. This person will assist the audit manager from the planning to the completion phase of our governmental and not-for-profit audits. The ideal candidate will be able to manage staff and interact with the clients as necessary.

 

Responsibilities:

• The ability to take an audit from planning to completion.

• Prepare financial reports (statements, footnotes and supplementary information) as well as the federal form 990.

• The ability to supervise and train staff.

• Actively engage in personal and professional development.

Job Requirements:

​

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting from an accredited college/university.

• Knowledge of auditing, accounting standards and the application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP, GAAS and Yellowbook, where applicable).

• Minimum of two plus years of auditing experience with a focus on governmental audits.

• Eligible to sit for CPA exam and have passed all or parts of the exam.

• Ability to work independently while supervising others.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to interact with management and clients.

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time and prioritize engagements.
